Our team is here for you
We are a dedicated, down-to-earth firm specialising in advocacy and personal injury litigation. We have served the community in Dundalk and beyond for many years. We are proud of the significant difference we have made to many of our clients’ lives through our negotiating, advocacy and problem-solving skills in areas such as personal injury and criminal law. 24 hour call outs
We support our clients by providing a 24 hour call out service which includes attending Garda stations with our clients, providing them with personal advice and direct assistance.

Home visits
We provide home visits in circumstances where our clients are unable to attend our office.

Paul Tiernan, Senior Partner, BCL

Paul graduated from University College Dublin with a BCL and became a partner in Tiernans Solicitors, Newry in 1990. He has extensive experience in personal injury litigation and criminal defence, and throughout his career, he has successfully defended many high profile criminal cases.

Paul is recognised as a leading practitioner in civil litigation and has an impressive track record in achieving excellent court awards and settlements in personal injury litigation. Throughout his career Paul has advocated tirelessly on behalf of his clients in the District, Circuit and High Court.

TiernansTeam-Bernie

Bernadette Heaney, Partner, LLB

Bernadette graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with an LLB. After qualification, she worked in Northern Ireland where she gained extensive experience in civil law litigation and probate.

She joined Tiernans Solicitors in 1996 and was promoted in 2009 to Managing Partner of the Dundalk practice. Bernadette has wide experience in all areas of the law but specialises in civil law litigation, probate, conveyancing and family law.

Ciaran Hughes, Solicitor, BCL

Ciaran graduated from the University of Ulster with a degree in Accounting. He obtained his professional legal qualification from Griffith College, Dublin in 2009.

Ciaran joined Tiernans Solicitors in 2011 and specialises in criminal law litigation, employment law, family law and civil law with a particular interest in personal injury litigation. He is an experienced advocate in both the District and Circuit Court.
